Unlike most photos on Portland Ground, I don't know exactly where this one was taken. But since in 1978, at age 19, I lived on Taggart Street in Hosford-Abernathy near 20th, it's probably from around there... you know, right in the middle of the street.
This photo just shows that I've been taking pictures of things like utility plates in the road for, oh, about 28 years now.
Do you remember when shoes looked like that? Do you remember when those 3 stripes were the coolest thing in shoes?
This was probably shot on Tri-X film, or some 400 ASA stock using my beloved old Olympus Pen F (half frame format!) with a 38mm f 1.8 standard lens, and processed by me in the darkroom. I did things like that back then.
